We had a great 2022

Sometimes you can just place one foot in front of the other and let the steps lead you on a lovely meandering path of exploration and discovery.  However we have a very purposeful journey we are embarking on.  The first big decision we made was to consider if we were prepared to take what was likely to be a difficult journey during a downturn in public spending and support for businesses in our sector.  We were emerging from global crisis, had taken a hideous first step with an individual we chose to work with to prepare our launch images.  Genuinely hideous, one of the most odious individuals I have ever had the misfortune to work with.  We were facing the reality that climate change awareness has exposed about our industry.  We are small, ethical and represent the most sustainable clothing design and production.  However when everyone is acknowledging the open secret that there are vastly more clothes than the world needs, that some of the crop growing, processing, manufacturing and shipping that generates clothes we do not need is destroying our planet and supports what amounts to modern day slavery in the production of those clothes it is possibly not the time to be expanding our micro clothing design and manufacturing business.

However, as we are the antidote to all that is wrong with the industry, are small and adept enough to support ourselves with moderate success (although we are aiming for much more) and because we love what we do, are highly skilled at it and the development offers the opportunity to other small, hard-working designers to get their foot on the ladder without huge expense…we remained wedded to the plan hatched in 2019…because it is as right now as it was then and potentially more needed than ever.
