ANNIE KÈKI
Born in London, Annie Kèki is a visual artist and craftsperson, working in 2 and 3D, her work is informed by life. Memories, characters and obscured details of her own life feature to inspire and question what is real and what is fake. Over recent years a desire to explore subtext, the unspoken and downright false representation have informed her process.
For many years there was division of the different creative process but now, from her beautiful studio in a converted textile mill, nestled at the foot of the majestic Pennines all elements co-exist in perfect harmony; textiles, jewellery and art.
In addition to leading a creative life, Annie is a practising clinical hypnotherapist, with a zest for life and a positive outlook for over thirty years she has worked with individuals seeking to better understand and navigate their own journey and enjoy life to the fullest. A passion and respect for life allows her to take things one day at a time, appreciate moments and approach a full spectrum of opportunities with brevity and fearlessness.
Begin who you are is a privilege. I have always known that I know very little, but I have also known I know how to be me better than anyone else. I stopped taking other peoples opinions of me seriously as a young child, preferring to learn about my own limits and explore my own potential without someone else’s measure. I feel fortunate to have learned ‘doing what you enjoy’ is an option on life’s menu.
