CMT

When we decided to manufacture our first limited edition collections in house it was because of the difficulty in finding a suitable alternative in the UK. We need clear communication, attention to detail and promises that will be kept. We produce a small number of each piece to a beautiful finish. Our motto is ‘love woven in to everything we do’ and it turned out that the only way to keep the ethos in the collections was to do it ourselves. So we took the decision to delay release by 12 months and create our own larger CMT facility here in the beautiful converted textile mill where we have been based for over 15 years.

We commenced this step of our journey four months ago, using our existing small and perfectly formed atelier to sample and collection and test the theory. With the right staff, the right training and above all the right attitude it is eminently possible. Our CMT facility provides the attention to detail, the love and the quality control our clothing demands.

The Design and Sewing Studio now offers sampling and short-run manufacturing of high end clothing to other designers and companies. What we have learnt already is that our years of experience allow us to not only create what the client wants but, where appropriate, to make suggestions to benefit them and their final pieces. It is a delight to bring our level of expertise, wealth of experience and love of sustainable textiles and clothing to a wider audience. We are delighted to have shone our light a little wider and brighter and it has been illuminating.

As a designer I enjoy the time I spend developing ideas and creating beautiful things. As a human being I enjoy the time I spend developing myself.
