Buttercup Days
Oh how lovely it has been to loll about the garden with the cats, reading, drinking tea and occasionally strolling along the lane and admiring the buttercup fields.
I have also just soaked in some ranunculus (Persian buttercup) to plant into pots when the sun returns.
But have I been doing work for The Design and Sewing Studio? Yes and it is looking very promising however it will have to take its place within the rest of my life. Not only is it still on track, I am thoroughly looking forward to the next few months. I have undertaken a small fabric project…recovered some old deck chairs with a lovely London bus canvas. Buttercups seem to be quite a feature in my life, we have just employed a lovely seamstress called Boglarka…which is Hungarian for…Buttercup. What a beautiful name.
I love the A.A. Milne poem and being called Annie always insisted it was about me. A theory I confirmed when I had a boyfriend called Christopher…he is long gone but the poem is still a firm favourite which I turn over in my mind on lovely sunny days.
So it seems buttercups have been in my thoughts as well as in my garden…these are my Buttercup days.
